The 5th Stage in your Journey to Compassion

In Level 5 of Journey to Compassion we are ready to take a leap. We allow the notion of selflessness to come to its radical conclusion and exchange the self for others. As we deepen our practice of tonglen we choose to take the suffering of others into our hearts. Our fear of contamination is provoked, providing fertile ground for further growth. Lessons include:

  • Recognize the benefits of taking the leap to put others first
  • Experience tonglen as a natural extension of mindful awareness
  • Understand cause and effect and the true origins of suffering
  • See why self-centered habitual patterns poison our compassion
  • Learn the four key components of genuine compassion
  • Explore the difference between lovingkindness and compassion
